Everyone said this movie sucked. I didn't realize they were making a pun! Sure, QotD isn't going to win any awards, but it certainly was fun. Hokey from the outset and sporting a few gaping plot holes, the whole film was the vampire attitude and lore. I'm not really into vampires, but I found it entertaining the same way I found Blade entertaining. I also like the "historical figure displaced into the present" theme. It's a good cheesy fluffy story.

The whole gimmick of this film is, wow, a female (Sharon Stone) gunfighter! Who'da thunk it? That gets old really fast. Luckily, this film, directed by the underestimated Sam Raimi, remains wild and wacky throughout. Raimi turns the whole thing into a giant, crazy comic book. The cast of ultra-stylized characters are awesome - it's a deeply stereotyped old west - reminding the viewer of a good Coen Bros film. It's also got the talents of Gene Hackman as a bad guy, and he's great when he does those. Surprisingly, the film is loaded with name-brand actors, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Gary Sinise, Russell Crowe, and Lance Henrikson. While none of them give particularly Oscar-worthy performances, it's great to watch them let loose and really act varying degrees of crazy. It helps even more that the whole film is a quick-draw contest, which is a storytelling style I really enjoy.
