Sycolin Road

Here are some pictures of an old abandoned house on Sycolin Road in Leesburg, Virginia. I'm guessing the house was built sometime before World War II, as I found an old sash weight among the debris. Apparently, there was a fire at some point, but I don't know if it was before or after the house was abandoned.

There's not much left to explore here, since there very little of the house remains, only a few exterior walls and part of the kitchen. Further back from the road are the remains of a large dairy barn, which has collapsed. These pictures were taken on March 7, 2004.

Update: November 24, 2009

I've noticed some recent development activity on Sycolin Road and there is construction equipment perilously close to the house, so I ran out to get more pictures of the site as I suspect it will be demolished soon.
