Furry Conventions
Furry conventions are held worldwide throughout the year. These conventions are the best way for members of furry fandom to network with artists and writers, attend workshops and panels to hone one's skills, or just meet other furry fans. There are also smaller gatherings known as "furmeets". You can find a local furmeet on Furries Meetup!
Major Furry Conventions
Anthrocon, the world's largest furry convention, will be held June 26-29, 2008 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Guest of "OK" this year will be legendary Disney cartoonist Floyd Norman!
Further Confusion is the second largest furry convention, located in San Jose, California. The convention runs from January 24-28, 2008 and will have artist Moira Hahn and puppeteer Dave Barclay as guests of honor.
Midwest FurFest is another large furry convention which will be moving to a larger venue in 2008! Typically held in mid-November. Watch their website for updated information!
What Goes on at a Furry Convention?
KT's Furry FAQ describes it in a nutshell: "Creative endeavors! Many furries are artists, writers, and costumers. At furry conventions, people get together to trade and sell art and stories, perform in and show off fursuits, and hang out with friends from online."
